Professor, Departments of Political Science and Sociology

In the course of my career I have worked mainly in the following three areas. (1) The comparative political economy of rich democracies, with substantive interests in social democracy, welfare states and gender inequality, and a methodological interest in the “small n” problem in macro-comparative research. (2) Electoral politics, political economy and the welfare state in Israel. (3) Diverse questions regarding the politics of inequality- most recently, the causes and composition  of the massive social protests in Israel and Southern Europe in 2011.
